What is The Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System and NaProTechnology?

The Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System:

  • Is a true system for family planning

  • It is a method that can be used both to achieve and avoid pregnancy

  • This model was developed through extensive research at Creighton University School of Medicine

  • It is proven to be more effective than artificial methods of contraception, and artificial methods to conceive. Studies of tens of thousands of woman using this method led to the discoveries of abnormal patterns and disease states. This led to the revolution in women’s healthcare we call NaProTechnology.

NaProTechnology:

  • Stands for Natural Procreative Technology

  • This does not mean this technology is only for a purpose of procreation. It is for the purpose of healing a patient who may have an abnormal hormonal cycle. This can cause conditions from PMS to Endometriosis to Infertility.

  • A NaProTechnology trained physician is able to make a proper diagnosis based on the Creighton model data the patient collected.

  • A NaProTechnology Practitioner then provides natural proven effective treatments instead of masking the problem like general gynecologists are trained to do. These may be medical and sometimes surgical to treat the condition.

Creighton model used for natural contraception

For patients who want to avoid getting pregnant and do not want to use artificial methods for the many risks they impose including cancer of the cervix, breast & liver, the Creighton model is proven to be 98.7-99.9% effective. But if not used properly with human error is 95-97% effective.

Facts about artificial forms of contraceptive according to the CDC based on typical use…

  • Implants and IUD’s are ~99% effective

  • Sterilization is ~98% effective

  • Injectable’s are 94% effective

  • Pills, patches and rings are 91% effective

For patient who do not have an infertility problem and simply want to use this method to get pregnant quicker, this method has shown 76% of couples get pregnant in the first cycle and 90% by the third cycle.

The Creighton charting method may reveal an underlying cause of infertility. NaProTechnology is used for these patients.

NaProTechnology for infertility

An alternative method for patient who want a more natural approach to infertility.

Proven by studies… for couples that have been diagnosed with infertility

  • The success rate of artificial fertility treatments (ex. IVF) is 31-33%

  • The success rate with NaProTechnology after failed artificial treatments is 52.8%

  • The success rate with NaProTechnology as the initial treatment of infertility is up to 80%.

This graph shows a comparison of the “per woman” pregnancy rates between the NaProTechnology approach and in vitro fertilization. This study shows that a NaProTechnology approach for women who have anovulatory infertility, polycystic ovarian disease, endometriosis, or tubal occlusion, all have statistically significantly higher pregnancy rates than patients with similar conditions treated with in vitro fertilization.
